Variable Voltage E-Cig Safe Vaping Chart

July 5, 2013 2:48 pm / 1 Comment / Benji Waters

If you are using a variable voltage electronic cigarette finding the right voltage for you device is usually through trial and error. But if you crank that voltage up to high your at risk of burning out your atomizer or reducing its life span dramatically. It’s good to know the safe voltage range for the specific resistance of your device. You can start your voltage at the right level and increase up to a maximum safe voltage. This handy chart from What-E-Cigarette will give you a good reference and hopefully save you a few atomizers.

Finding the right voltage within the safe range then comes down to personal preference. I like to vape my low resistance Boge cartomizers at 4.1 volts and my dual coil clearomizers at 4.4 volts. What’s you preferred voltage for your variable voltage electronic cigarette?

Recently I’ve just purchased a Kanger Protank 2 to go with an Eleaf 20watt Istick and I’m having trouble with burning issues.
According to the safe vaping chart above using a 2.2ohm head the safe vaping zone isas follows
power/watts 4.09-8.21. voltage 3-4.25 Is this correct or am I reading it wrong?
Can you please tell me why I’m getting burning tastes when I set it over 7watts and got my volts on round about the 4volts mark
Could you please advise on wattage and voltage settings for my set up Thanks Chris.
